Dictionaries

Here are some useful  online dictionaries:

Try them out. For instance, look up the same word in all the dictionaries and compare the information that you get. How are the dictionaries different? Which one do you find more useful? Why? Do you know any other online dictionaries? Post comments with your opinions.

I collected all your comments, pasted them here and deleted the posts to make the blog clearer. Anyway, many of you didn't write anything...

The difference is that the first dictionary tells you in Spanish and English, the second is a English , the third dictionaryl is visua what makes you see through the images and the fourth dictionary is written in English

  1. - First Dictionary: Are more definitions and pronunciatión, is a good dictionary.

    - Second Dictionary: Is similar to the first dictionary.

    - Third Dictionary: The dictionary is very bad because it does not bring definition images.

    - Fourth Dictionary: Is similar to the first and second dictionary.

  2. Hi!
I look at the word "cat" in the dictionaries:
*The fist dictionary (WorReference.com ) give us a translation of the word "cat" and different situations tu use the word "cat".
*The second dictionary (MacMillan Dictionary.) give us a complete definition and also some phrases using the word "cat".
*The third dictionary (Merriam Webster Visual Dictionary.)it's worse that the other dictionaries because don't give us a definition only show us some pictures of "cats".
*The fourth dictionary (Cambridge Dictionary) it only give a translation of "cat".

I think that the most useful is WordReference dictionary , because it give us a translation and different situations to use the word .Yes I know about Oxford dictionary

  3. Hi! :)
The word search is a dog.
In WordReference dictionary brings you the word you are looking translated, as it is pronounced and what kind of phrases you can use.
In Macmillon dictionary brings you only the definition.
In Merian Webster visual dictionary brings you the photo of the animal, thing... you're looking for.
In Cambridge Dicionaries brings the definition in English.
